I am a journalism graduate, I am a dreamer, I love fashion, I am messy, I am in love... and I find it really hard to resist a Starbucks white mocha with cream. If you think that we could be friends, welcome to my blog :) I'm Dani, and I graduated from De Montfort University in May 2009 after three wonderful years studying Journalism and English Literature.... and one day, I WILL be a magazine editor.! I'm used to the blogging world, but this blog has been set up especially to keep track of my journalism applications, my successes, my failures... However, I'm willing to let you in on a little bit of my wonderful life too........ enjoy the ride!

The Demon - final article

Okay so I have been searching, searching and SEARCHING for the past few days, for jobs, internships, work experience, everything and anything. And I was beginning to give up, until I saw this:

Elle magazine

It's been a quiet few days on the journalism front - no reply from internships, no reply from jobs.... a give up all round.

However, my dream internship cropped up on Gorkana today, for a Fashion Intern. At Elle Magazine. And it sounds so amazing, but completely out of reach as six months previous experience on a magazine is essential, and seems as no one will give me any experience on their magazine, I'm screwed.

The internship is for a year and this would be the perfect step up of the ladder into the world of fashion magazines. Perhaps next year...

Applications....

I applied for two things today:

1) Work experience at Reveal magazine
I was looking into applying for Cosmo, when I came over a forum with a couple of people saying it was quite easy to get work experience with Reveal magazine. So off I sent my CV with my cover letter and hopefully I'll hear back from them soon....

2) A JOB.
Yes, my first, proper, real journalism job. Scary stuff indeed.! There's a vacancy being advertised in Lutterworth for some Online Content Writers, so I applied for it straight away. I didn't even really know what to put in my covering letter, seems as everything I've been applying for lately are for magazine internships. But I tried my best, and it sounds as though the company is taking on a good few journos, so fingers crossed..............................
